The Owl Foundation is a registered charity located in southern Ontario, specializing in helping injured or orphaned owls (and other raptors). We strive to return them to the wild.

We currently have over 60 owls on site, including resident, orphaned young and rehabilitation cases in different stages of healing. In 2025 we admitted 205 birds of prey. One of our largest expenses is owl food. We have two suppliers that we utilize to keep our facility well stoked with frozen mice/rats.

In addition to purchasing frozen mice, we breed mice. We cannot possibly breed enough to meet our daily needs, but it does help offset some of the costs. Volunteers maintain our breeding colony with routine cleaning, watering and feeding. In three months, we use approximately 5,337 mice and 976 rats.
